SPECIAL YOUNG MUSICIANS COURSES

1. Yolande LEROY, violin                                                                   Having taken her diploma under Tibor Varga at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold, she now teaches at the National Conservatoire in Lille and the Conservatoire Supérieur Tibor Varga in Sion. Member of various ensembles, she specialises in teaching very young violinists.

2. Susan RYBICKI-VARGA, cello                                                      Daughter of Tibor Varga, she studied in Detmold with Irène Güdel and André Navarra. She appears with various chamber music ensembles and has made numerous recordings. Professor at the Lausanne Conservatoire-HEM and Sion.

3. Tatyana PIKAYZEN, piano                                                     graduated from Moscow Conservatoire. Studied with Lev Oborin, Eugen Malinin and Tatyana Nikolayeva. Winner of several competitions (Moscow, Vienna, Warsaw). Performed in major concert halls and with world-famous symphony orchestras. Recordings of the complete sonatas of Beethoven, Brahms and Liszt. Faculty member of Manhattan School of Music, New York, she also gives several masterclasses.

The « Campus Musicus » is an opportunity for young  participants   (9 to 18) to broaden their musical experience by playing in a youth orchestra led by a qualified conductor who has been with the orchestra for the past 20 years.

The camp will first take place in  Sornetan (5 to 10 July. See www.centredesornetan.ch)  and in Sion the second  week.  Public concerts will be given at the end of the week in Sion, Martigny and Ovronnaz.

Total price : CHF 600.- (application fee 100.-, course fee 200.-; travel and board 300.-). 

Stefan Ruha, conductor                                                                   Has been in charge of the “Campus Musicus”  since 1984. His experience both as a violin teacher and a conductor, in addition to his dynamic spirit, have brought him great success. He possesses the art of passing on to young people a taste for music and work connected with orchestras.
