Daughter of Tibor Varga, she studied at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold, where she studied with Irène Güdel and André Navarra, under whom she obtained her diploma with distinction. Principal cellist of the Detmold Chamber Orchestra (1978-89), she has appeared with various chamber music ensembles and made numerous recordings. She is professor at the Lausanne Conservatoire and the Conservatoire Supérieur Tibor Varga in Sion.
