Winner of the 1982 Isle of Man International Competition, Duncan McTier is one of the world’s leading double bass soloists, appearing in major festivals and concert halls and with many eminent conductors. He plax with various groups such as the Nash Ensemble. He currently teaches at the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Zurich-Winterthur. Many of his past students hold principal positions in orchestras worldwide. He will be accompanied by the pianist Rebecca Woolcock.
