Marcin HABELA
Born in Poland,
Marcin Habela, baritone, after studying piano and organ he
graduated in singing at the Paris Conservatory (CNSMDP) and
continued his studies at the CNIPAL Opera-studio in Marseille.
In range of his teachers : R. Crespin, R. Yakar, G. Macby, R.
Tear, S. Leiferkus, M. Alcantara. He won the First Prize of many
international singing competitions. Since then he performed more
than 40 leading baritone roles (Ford in Falstaff, Conte in Le
nozze di Figaro, Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Onegin…) at
various Opera Houses and Festivals in Europe (Théâtre du
Châtelet, Salle Pleyel and Cité de la musique – Paris, La
Monnaie – Brussels, Lyon, Montpellier, Frankfurt, Marseille,
Festivals of Aix-en-Provence, Radio France, Chorégies d’Orange,
Maifestspiele - Wiesbaden, Lato Operowe - Cracow…). He performed
opposite R. Alagna, J. van Dam, T. Hampson, K. Mattila, and
collaborated with conductors of international renown such as S.
Rattle, Ch. von Dohnanyi, J. Tate, E. Krivine, A. Pappano and
with stage directors like A. Arias, S. Braunschweig, M. Hampe,
A. Serban… His concert repertoire is wide ranging and includes
the vocal works from Monteverdi to Britten. He created a lot of
works of 20’s century composers (Martin, Bauermeister, Decoust,
Henze, Ghidoni, Llorca…). He has featured as soloist in many
recordings for the French, Italian, Switzerland, Polish and
German Radio and Television, (TSR, SBB, RAI…) and in CD
recordings for EMI… He is passionate in his teaching, he gives
international masterclasses and is currently Professor of
Singing at both the Lyon (F) Conservatory and Geneva-HEM (CH)
conservatories.
In november
2008 he has received a special public price
of Mezzo Chanel "Grand Prix du Public du Meilleur
Interprète de la chaîne Mezzo for his
interpretation of
"Raoul" of Kingsley et
Kunze.
