After his
studies with Nobuko Imai, Ulrich Eichenauer, a native of Germany,
was principal violist of the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra for
several seasons and subsequently a member of the renowned New York
City based Mendelssohn String Quartet. He now enjoys an
international career performing as soloist and chamber musician
across Europe and North Amercia and is a sought after guest at many
prestigious festivals. In addition, he is the violist of the newly
founded Waldstein Quartet.
Having
previously taught at the Musikochschule Detmold, at Harvard
University and the North Carolina School of the Arts, he is
currently Professor for Viola at the Art- and Music Academies of
Bern and Sion.
He is
invited regularly to give masterclasses in Europe, the US and Asia
